The blade is made from German 1075 High Carbon Steel and are heat treated and annealed to about 56-58 Rockwell hardness. The edge is hand finished and polished to razor sharpness. The blade has the Condor natural finish which is a bare metal look, that has the appeal of a well worn pair of jeans. There is a special treatment over the top of the blade to help repel rust. The high impact poplypropylene handles are strong and virtually indestructible. These handles are molded directly to the machete making it impossible to separate. The tang continues to the back of the handle, with a metal lanyard passing through it for added strength. The ballistic Nylon sheath is much quieter than Kydex, and are MOLLE compliant. Condor’s special sheath shop conducted research to find materials that would be sturdy, and each sheath is double stitched and reinforced for heavy duty use.
