The new Condor  K-TACT Kukri  features a 10″ 1075 blasted high carbon steel blade. The blade is named after survival expert Alan Kay, season 1 winner of Alone on the History Network. Every edge is hand finished and honed to razor sharpness. The Micarta handles enhance both the look and function of this knife while delivering durable phenolic performance. The included sheath is made from high-quality Kydex with a leather belt loop, designed by 710 Custom Sheaths.

I have been handling knives since I was 6 years old, and I’m 67 now. This Kukri is one of the very best large knives I have ever encountered. The handle is just about perfect, with a slight. “Coke Bottle” design and not too large for my medium size hands. The Micarta handle has just enough roughness to provide the perfect level of purchase. The blade is an optimal length as any longer would begin to prove unwieldy. It is a forward heavy blade, but quick and nimble in the hands. As with any knife one buys, modifications will be made, of course. Extra sharpening, sheath adjustments, etc. all to, “Tune” it to each person’s taste. All my other large camp knives have faded in importance with this new arrival. And as Alan Kay said that if he only had one knife, this would be it..I am in complete agreement!! Buy it NOW!

Got one today as a present. Well made but grip is a little fat. I wear large gloves and it is just a little too large of a grip. Kydex sheath has a leather strap for retention but the snap does not hold well. Sharpness? OK certainly not razor sharp. Will take quite a bit of time to sharpen enough to be useable. As is it is it will beat a piece of wood in to but not chop. Edge only slightly sharper than Walmart camp axe (you know the real cheap one). I have an old one from Atlanta Cutlery made in India about 30 years ago that I have used hard and this was to be its replacement. If I had to choose between the old beater and the Condor I not sure which I would take for a few weeks in the woods. A little disappointed. But I was a gift because my wife knew I wanted one so I will just fix the issues and thank her.
