The cañero machete is a large, two-handed machete with a wide blade that comes off at an angle from the handle, differentiating it from other two-handed cane machetes. The angled neck of the blade permits someone in an upright position to sweep the blade along parallel to the ground to cut vegetation, primarily non-woody plant stalks and canes. Once cut, the hook on the blade allows the vegetation to be pulled out of the way or gathered.
